Buying Network Awarded Alaskan Contract

The Buying Network was selected to supply the Alaska Marine Highway System's ten-vessel ferry fleet. TBN will provide chemicals from the engine room to the passenger deck. The State's ferry fleet, which operates from Bellingham Washington, Southeast and Southwest Alaska, will be serviced at multiple ports.

The conversion process includes a detail analysis of the shore water taken aboard from the many ports the vessels service. Additionally, analysis and inspection of boiler, propulsion, generation and other mission critical systems on the vessels are performed to insure the success of the selected products. Treatment of water in the expensive machinery on board is mandatory for the ultimate performance required of each system and to reduce maintenance.

General cleaning on board a vessel is not like cleaning something on land. Using chemicals on a ship that may end up accidentally going overboard is everyone's concern. Environmental concerns are a number one priority. Chemicals selected for the State are water based and biodegradable making a safe environment for the crew and our ecosystem.
